I have to say, the weather on Saturday night was just perfect. When you book an outdoor job in Arizona for the beginning of the Summer you have no idea if it is going to be blazing hot or just hot. Fortunately, it was ideal.

This past Saturday, the Live Photobooth was on the covered patio that overlooks the reflecting pool at the Royal Palms Resort – the perfect shady spot to capture the friends and family of this beautiful wedding party.

Another lovely wedding organized and orchestrated by Victoria Canada Weddings and Events. It is always such a pleasure to work with Victoria, Lauren and the wonderful team that make every wedding such a successfully unique event.

If you can’t tell from perusing the photos, this was a jovial group that was having a blast from the minute they entered the reception (think YOU TUBE entrance, each couple out doing the other when they were announced), to the best man’s speech that encouraged guest participation (very funny!) to the hilarious photo booth interactions!

But looking at these fun pictures from last Saturday’s photo booth at the Hyatt Gainey Ranch and you would never guess 3 things:

1. we were outside adjacent to a beautiful swimming pool and a lake

2. there were wind gusts that felt like 60 mph – in all directions

3. we were hanging on to the backdrop so that it didn’t go sailing into either the pool or the lake or into the middle of the beautiful wedding reception

Regardless of what was going on behind the scenes – you can’t tell from the pictures!  The bride and groom and all their guests just rolled with it. A little wind, no big deal.  Fun was had by all.

Michael and Debra are such a fun, wonderful couple. Michael is just larger than life with a huge personality … both Debra and Michael seem to have a kindness that is easily apparent – even though we just met for the first time Saturday evening.

Family and children seem to be a very important part of their lives. When we walked into the Valencia Ballroom at the Montelucia to set up, we were shown our spot adjacent to what we thought was the head table. A few minutes went by and I saw that someone had placed a bunch of crayons on the table. It turned out that this extremely large table was actually the kids table – probably set for 25 kids. An evening wedding that incorporated small children – I love it!

It was a lovely reception – perfectly organized by Karen of Karen Doan Events. The bride and groom seemed to be having one laugh after another, the kids were having a blast and The Live Photobooth was snap, snap, snapping great pics of a fun crowd all evening.

A successful evening – Congratulations to a lovely couple!

What can I say about this crowd…they were just so much fun. The laughter was contagious. It’s like when you are driving in your car listening to something funny on the radio and you just can’t help bursting out in laughter and you know the people in the cars next to you think you’re nuts. Well that describes this crowd. Whether it was the duo that put the silver paper that wraps gum on their teeth or the man that didn’t change his emotion not even once or the groom swiping someone’s wheelchair and zooming into the middle of a picture or the guy that could make any face in the world and be funny while doing it – this was a lively crowd. My side still hurts from laughing. Fun. Fun. Fun!

The night was off to a shaky start because of the weather.  Imagine, rain in Arizona…lots of rain in Arizona.  The Live Photo Booth was able to remain outside, under a covered awning at Dorrance Hall, Desert Botanical Gardens. Victoria Canada of Victoria Canada Weddings and Events was able to move the outdoor wedding indoors on a moments notice and still remain oh, so calm. Even though we could see our breath (hello, is this really April in AZ?) the night was a huge success! It seemed to me like fun was had by all.

There is something so cool and fun about a backyard wedding.  Backyard of course is a word with a very loose definition. There are some “backyards” in Arizona that rival some of the finest resorts. There is something so cool and fun about a backyard wedding.  Backyard of course is a word with a very loose definition. There are some “backyards” in Arizona that rival some of the finest resorts. Gorgeous pools, perfect landscaping, sunken tennis courts, amazing scenery, you get the idea.

This past weekend, The Live Photobooth was lucky enough to have been part of a really special “backyard” wedding.  What a sweet bride and groom, surrounded by great family and friends. You could truly feel the love in the air.  Needless to say, we really enjoyed ourselves.

While The Live Photobooth is the perfect photo booth for either outside or inside, there is a certain element of the unknown that accompanies an outdoor booth.  Living in Arizona, the weather is usually as close to perfect as you can get. I honestly don’t even think of rain. Our only concern is wind. Since weather is the unknown factor when somebody books an outdoor photo booth – we have several contingency plans for day of inclement weather.

Fortunately, our photo booth is very versatile. We just require a 12×12 space and access to power.  The rest is completely manageable. If it is raining, we will move inside – nothing we can do about rain. If it is windy, we will scrap the paper back drop option and use a fabric backdrop. If it is really windy and there is no indoor option, we will shoot with no backdrop. Sometimes that can be really cool! Where there’s a will there’s a way as the old saying goes!

I like to call Keith Magiver for short.

This past weekend our designated spot was in a sunken tennis court area – the conditions were absolutely perfect. We used a white paper backdrop and our regular set up. I know you can’t plan on great weather, but this time of year the conditions are just great!

Well another fun evening with The Live Photo Booth. We had the pleasure of working with Lauren of Victoria Canada Weddings and Events at the Montelucia Resort this past Saturday.

The crowd let their hair down when the photo booth was ready to roll. I have to say that this photo booth brings the fun side out in just about everyone. A spontaneous crowd with a really good sense of humor = a good time had by all.

I just love how contagious the booth is. Once that first picture is taken the hours just fly by. One funny group after another. Guests trying to one up each other. Great expressions. Fun memories. One laugh after another.

One guest mentioned to us that we have a really cool job – they were right!

This past weekend, The Live Photo Booth had the good fortune of working at Encanterra Country Club for the first time. While Keith was photographing a lovely wedding at Sassi, myself, Brad and Jez were having a blast working with a really fun bride & groom, the greatest wedding planner in the valley (the one and only Victoria Canada) and a group of guests that were one laugh after another!

Halloween is such a great time of the year for a wedding – the weather is perfect here in Arizona – and you get to use fun props like these! The Live Photo Booth was just made for a fun crowd like this – everyone, including us, seemed to have a blast! I love the old fashioned photo booths – but they don’t hold a candle to this set up – large groups, lots of interaction, it’s like a live photo session, everyone can see what’s going on! The Live Photo Booth never fails – it is an instant hit!
